Flash back...
***
It was a hot afternoon in Mubi , a village in Adamawa state. The terrorism attacks were getting serious by the day. Scaring most of the civilians, especially the non indigines of the state.
Boko Haram attacks has become a rampart thing here in Mubi. Having everyone praying for their lives, and wishing that the government will come up with a solution pretty soon.
Mr kalu's house was not an exception.
“ Daddy, daddy, there are men outside with truck loads of guns and some weird weapons. Who are they? ” Abram, a seven years old boy, said as he walked into the living room, where his father, Mr Kalu is busy reading the newspaper.
“ son, come over here. ” Mr kalu said to his son. Stretching out his hand for the little boy. He walked to his father and Mr Kalu sat him on his lap.
“ Boy listen, on no account will you step outside without your mother's permission. The country, especially this state is no longer as it used to be. Is not safe outside there, do you understand me? ” he demanded, looking closely at his son, hoping in his heart that the terrorism attacks will not get to his house.
“ Daddy what's wrong? Are those men bad people? ” Abram asked, looking scared for a child.
“ Yes. They are bad people and outside is not safe for anyone so please, never step your foot outside this room without permission. ” Mr kalu explained calmly.
“ okay dad. ” the boy replied. There's a sudden sound of gun shots outside, followed by a banging on their door.
Mrs Kalu ran into the living room, meeting both her son and her husband, looking terrified on who could possibly be at the door at this hot afteernon, especially with what is going on in the state currently.
“ Mummy what's wrong? Who is that? ” Mariam, there Eleven years old daughter asked, immediately she walked into the living room. Seeing how her parents were looking intently at the door, like their lives depends on it. it tells her that something is wrong, and that scares her.
“ Ada take your brother and go inside now! Lock the room and don't let anyone in. ” Mrs kalu ordered her daughter with fear written all over her face.
“ No mum! We will stay... ” her words were cut short by some men barging into the room, after breaking the door with their weight.
“ Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!!!” Mariam screamed.
“ your Jesus won't save you. ” one of the men in masked said, slapping her mouth shut.
“ leave my daughter alone! ” Mr kalu said, ganing himself a dangerous look from one of the men in masked.
He glanced back at him “ now say your last prayers, or we shall do them for you! ” He said while pointing at the floor for them to be on their knees.
The man walked behind Mr kalu as he brings out his dagger.

'“ Please don't. Please stop! I beg you don't, please! ” the eleven years old girl pleaded to the men in masked who were so busy slaughtering her family.
One of the men broght out a short, double-edged blade and sliced her father's throat.
“ No! ” Mariam screamed in pain and terror. She just watched her father, slaughtered like a goat in front of her, by one of the men In masked. The pain and messery she felt at that moment, couldn't be comprehended.
It felt like a night mere. What could be more painful or worst than that, she thought.
“ now is your turn.” the masked man said to the mother, before sliting her throat too
“ No! No! ” a sounding slap send her growling on the ground, with pain, while she watch her father, mother and younger brother slaughtered. The voice of her brother as he choke to death, while being strangled, killed her voice.
She couldn't hear her own voice anymore, even when one of the men came over to her, knowing it was her turn, she couldn't find her voice to shout nor cry or even call out for help.
The man pushed her away from where her parents where laying, and made her face up the ceiling.
Tearing up her cloths off her body, and forcing her legs open. Mariam knew instantly what was coming. She tried to shout out for help, but her voice was stocked. She couldn't hear her own voice any more.
She fixed her eyes intently on what remains of her family's corpse, while the man forced himself on her. He went on and on, over and over again, until he was satisfied.
He stood up and dressed himself, while the rest of the guys, all took their turn on her, until all five men completely raped her to their satisfaction.
To everyone surprised, she didn't pass out, nor cried. Her eyes were fixated on her family's corpse that were laying in front of her, with their eyes wide open.
“ She's strong. I think the captine will like her. Don't you think? ” the last guy said, in an accent that sounded like an Indian. Their plan was to rape her till death but she proved to be stronger than that. An eleven years old girl, withstanding being raped by five grown up men is something anyone will be surprised to hear.
“ I think so too. ” said the other, in the same Indian accent.
“ so we take her then. But we don't take girls. Rashid A'Gul doesn't like girl prisoner. ” the third guy says. It was then that it occurred to Mariam that this is not just any terrorism attacks.
They are probably taking advantage of the fact that the Boko Haram attacks is currently the order of the day, here in the state. They are foreigners, yes. But not Arabic nor Fulani. She thought.
“ well let's find out, after we tell him this. ” the other says.
They dragged Mariam up from the floor, and head outside to their truck and drove off with her. She didn't blink, cry nor struggle with them. Tears were just flowing from her eyes like rain drop. She couldn't pray nor wish for anything but with a heavy heart, she knew her life was over.

The truck arrived and stopped at what looks like a deserted forest, but camps could be seen almost everywhere in the forest.
Mariam took a closer look at her new environment, the men were all getting down from the truck, “ this will probably be where they will kill me. ” she thought to herself.
“ hey. You. Get down! ” one of the guys that brought her here, ordered.
She came down as ordered and was dragged to one of the tents, where she presume the so called Rashid A'Gul will be and of course waiting to slaughter her like they did to her parents.
She was forced down to the floor as they entered the room. Force-dropping her on the floor is one thing, making her face an A-K 47 machine gun is definitely another thing all together.
A hundred and one ideas were all running through her head at this moment. She calculated all the ideas running in her head on how to kill them, but none of them have a good ending of how to escape alive.
Giving up escaping was the only option she has and besides, right now, she really don't care what they do to her anymore. What matters is for them to get it over done with, so she could see her fate.
“ what's your name? ” A man's voice Jacked her back to reality. “ young lady, I ask again, what is your name? ”
Mariam took a closer look at the man in front of her, he sounds like an Arabian but looks more like an Indian. So she concluded that he's probably an Indian too, just like the other guys.
Mariam tried opening her mouth to talk but couldn't hear her own voice. she tried saying a word again and again but nothing was heard.
is not that she didn't want to, she couldn't. her voice is missing and no matter how she try to say a word, her voice can never be heard again.
